Movie Review: ‘Shakalaka Boom Boom’ is an Indian film released in 2007 and was directed by Suneel Darshan and he also produced the film as well. The music of the film has been provided by Himesh Reshammiya on the lyrics penned down by Sameer. Set against a background of the global music industry, Shakalaka Boom Boom explores into the complex relationship of two spectacularly different men who have but one thing in common their craze for music. If unfeeling, manipulative, cut-throat is measured the same with the music industry, these terms definitely do not apply to AJ the most loved, the most popular singer/composer New York has seen.

If unusual talent, passion, attitude is considered equal with the music industry. Then Reggie fits the bill. Young and incredibly talented, he hungers for what AJ has; he desires to be where AJ is on the top. There comes two women in their lives singer Ruhi and ambitious PR professional Sheena.

On the professional front, Ruhi respect and looks up to AJ. On the personal level she has been encouraged and convinced by Reggie. On the professional front, Sheena has done a lot for Reggie. On the personal level, she holds a huge grudge because he has spurned her. As ambition, exploitation and desperation take centre stage, Ruhi and Sheena become pawns in a ruthless game.

As AJ and Reggie play against each in a do or die battle envy and disloyalty rear their ugly heads. As talent struggles to survive the physical attack of a carefully arranged smear campaign, Music will be the definitive winner and the loser In Shakalaka Boom Boom.
