Synopsis of Veer Zaara:
Movie Review:
The film ‘Veer Zaara’ is an Indian film which was released in 2004 and directed by Yash Chopra. The story of the film has been written about the conflict between India and Pakistan which describes the love story of the Indian Air Force Sqadron Leader Veer Pratap Singh and Pakistani woman Zaara Haayat Khan, who are separated twenty years back. The film expands as a Pakistani lawyer was appointed by the Human Rights Commission to look into the rights of prisoners and she finds Veer in prison who is an alleged spy and his name was Rajesh Rathore but the lawyer Saamiya came to know that his real name is Veer and is not a spy for India but a Sikh man who loves an Islamic woman, Zaara Haayat Khan; was caught up in a web of deceit and betrayal, made to sign a "confession", and has since been languishing in prison.
He now starts telling her the story about what had happened with him. The story begins and there comes Zaara Haayat Khan (Preity Zinta) who is a carefree girl came to India to with the ashes of her governess to scatter them in the river among her ancestors. Zaara decides to carry out Bebe's dying wish. When she reached India her bus had an accident and just then an Indian Air Force pilot, Squadron Leader Veer Pratap Singh (Shahrukh Khan) comes for her salvage and with his help she fulfils Bebe’s final rites. After that Zaara invited by Veer to come to his village and spend a day together, she agrees and during her stay Veer falls in love with her and is waiting for right time to tell her about his feelings for her. But he came to know that she was engaged to Raza (Manoj Bajpai). During their last few moments together, Veer confesses his love and then watches sadly as Zaara boards the train that will take her back to Pakistan. Both believe that this is the end of the road for their relationship and have no hope of meeting again.
She realizes the same feelings for him after getting back to Pakistan and her friend Shabbo tells Veer about her feelings on phone. After knowing this he comes to Pakistan to take her back to India, but her mother request him to leave her as her father is a noted politician and will be ruined if the news out that his daughter is in love with him. He accepts her request and decides to leave Pakistan but Raza, who is outraged by the shame Zaara has brought upon him, frames Veer and has him wrongly imprisoned on charges of being an Indian spy Rajesh Rathore. Now the story passes forward 22 years and Veer is now with Saamiya Siddiqui (Rani Mukerji) to who Veer was telling the story.
After numerous attempts which fail to prove Veer's innocence, Saamiya goes to Veer's village in India to gather evidence proving Veer's true identity. There, Saamiya meets Zaara- who had runs away to India and has taken charge in the village for Veer's parents for several years now. Saamiya persuades Zaara to go back to Pakistan with her and at last tell the truth about Veer's identity. The judge releases Veer from prison and apologize on behalf of Pakistan. After Veer is finally released, he and Zaara return to India together, at last reunited.
