Movie Review: ‘My Name Is Khan’ is a latest movie directed by Karan Johar and this is the first film he directed not starts with ‘K’ unlike his previous hits like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Kal Ho Na Ho and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. The film has been co-produced by Dharma Productions and Red Chillies Entertainment which are production companies of Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan. the starring of the film has Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol Devgan in the lead roles. The film is all set to release on 12 February 2010. The movie focuses on the relationship between the Western world and Islam and how it has changed over the past few years.

The story of the film revolves around the life of Rizwan Khan (Tanay Cheda) who is a Muslim child lives with his mother (Zarina Wahab) in the Borivali section of Mumbai. He suffers from Asperger syndrome, a form of high functioning autism complicating socialization. On growing up, he (Shah Rukh Khan) shifted to San Francisco to live with his brother and sister in law. There he happened to meet a Hindu single mother Mandira (Kajol) and falls in love with her. They get married in spite of protests from his family. They now start a small business and happily settled. September 11, 2001, strikes their relationship where Muslims suffer a sea-change. Rizwan and Mandira face numerous difficulties following which they split. Rizwan is distress about his love leaving him and starts a touching and inspiring journey across America.

The then confronts Radha (Sheetal Menon) who is a therapist and helps him manage his situation and his affliction. On his trip to clear his name, he meets President Barack Obama (Christopher B. Duncan). ‘My Name is Khan’ describes the journey of a family and how it changes post 9/11. Will the unusual hero conquer the difficulties to regain the love of his life? Will Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol be able to deliver yet another hit as they did in the past? Wait till 12 February, 2010 for the answers.
