Rajendra Krishan Duggal is one of the Indian film lyricists. He was born on 6 June 1919 in Jalalpur Jattan British India. He used to write lyrics and screenplay for the Indian films. He used to write poems in his childhood. He started his career as a clerk in a municipal office till 1942. He used to attend the Mushairas which were organized by newspapers.
He started his film career in 1947 film Janta for which he wrote the screenplay. He made his debut as a lyricist with the film Zanjeer in the same year. he became popular with the success of the film Aaj Ki Raat which was directed by Motilal-Suraiya in the year 1948. He wrote the song Suno Suno Aye Duniyawalon, Bapu Ki Yeh Amar Kahani which was written after the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi and sang by Mohammad Rafi which earned Rajendra great appreciation among the film industry and Indian audience.
He also wrote 18 screenplays in Tamil language for AVM Studios. He has also worked with Madan Mohan, Hemant Kumar, Sajjid Hussain, Sachin Dev Burman, S Mohinder, Chitragupt, Salil Chowdhury and Laximikant-Pyarelal.
